Chisholm Trail Parkway (CTP)

The Chisholm Trail Parkway is a 27.6-mile toll road that connects Fort Worth, Cleburne and communities in between. The CTP was a collaboration between NTTA, the Texas Department of Transportation, the North Central Texas Council of Governments, Tarrant and Johnson counties, Fort Worth and Western Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad as well as the cities of Fort Worth, Burleson and Cleburne. The CTP opened to traffic in 2014.

Chisholm Trail Parkway Widening

The Chisholm Trail Parkway (CTP) Widening Project will widen CTP to two lanes in each direction from FM 1187 in Tarrant County to US 67 in Johnson County - approximately 13 miles.

Opening date: Late 2028

Recent Progress

•    In May 2025, the NTTA Board of Directors approved contracts for construction, construction management, and materials testing. 
•    Construction began in September 2025.
•    Placed construction signage and temporary barriers for work zones and installed environmental protection. 
•    Began concrete column placement along the corridor. 
•    Initial clearing and subgrade preparation for new mainlanes is underway.
•    The north- and southbound exit ramps and northbound entrance ramp at CR 920 were reconstructed and relocated.

What's Next?

•    Drill shafts, column placement and concrete cap forming for bridges will continue. 
•    Subgrade preparation will continue for the new mainlanes. 
•    Ramp relocation work will continue at FM 1902.
