Eric Hemphill
Director of System and Incident Management

Eric Hemphill is director of System and Incident Management. System and Incident Management consists of roadway customer service, safety, emergency management, command center operations, and traffic engineering. The team is a technologically advanced group who lead the industry in the use of Intelligent Transportation Systems and incident management.

Hemphill also volunteers in his community having served in multiple roles with the Corporate Challenge benefitting Special Olympics of Texas, various boards with the City of Murphy Texas, and on his local school PTA Board. He also serves as a panel member on a National Cooperative Highway Research Program project to develop traffic control devices and countermeasures to reduce wrong way driving incidents.

Hemphill is also involved in the Texas Public Works Association (TPWA) serving as president of the organization’s North Central Branch in 2011 and 2012. In 2006, TPWA awarded him Branch Member of the Year, and in 2010 he was honored with both the TPWA Professional Manager of the Year in Transportation and the TPWA Richard Ridings Community Involvement Award. In 2014, TPWA named him one of the top public works leaders in Texas.

Hemphill earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Dallas. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas.
