Director of Business Diversity

Anthony Coleman, NTTA’s business diversity director, is responsible for providing leadership in defining objectives and strategies for the Authority’s Business Diversity Department, including managing the program and developing diversity inclusion initiatives. Coleman plans, directs, organizes and coordinates the administration of NTTA’s programs designed to increase inclusion of all business enterprises. He interacts with outside organizations and associations to disseminate information pertaining to contracting opportunities. Coleman oversees contract compliance, directs major outreach efforts, and manages contract compliance and the budget process.

Coleman is an innovative manager with more than 30 years of experience in progressive governmental program development and management. Skilled in relationship and team building for both the public and private sectors, he developed and implemented a new business diversity program for the City of Irving, which included the revision of a minority/woman owned business enterprise and guided the development of a minority/woman owned business advisory committee. Coleman worked for more than 26 years at the City of Dallas serving as the manager of business development services. He was responsible for managing the ResourceLink Team and the recruitment of new vendors to participate in the city’s bid solicitation process. Coleman also worked as an economic development manager. He oversaw the implementation of five Business Assistance Centers and the South Dallas/Fair Park Trust Fund.

Coleman earned his bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University and his master’s degree from Abilene Christian University. He is a board member of the North Central Texas Regional Certification Agency. He also is a member of the Regional Hispanic Contractors Association of Dallas-Fort Worth, Regional Black Contractors Association and the Asian American Contractors Association. ​​
