DNT Improvements

Dallas North Tollway Improvement Projects Description

DNT Improvement Projects consist of various projects that extend along the DNT from Interstate 35E north to the Sam Rayburn Tollway. The projects include:

  • Sam Rayburn Tollway to President George Bush Turnpike: the addition of a fourth lane in both directions
  • DNT/PGBT interchange: reconfigure the existing direct-connector ramps on the north side of the interchange to add another lane
  • SRT to I-635: resurfacing the roadway pavement, restriping, and the relocation of existing light poles from the center median barrier to the outside
  • PGBT to Belt Line Road: restriping to add a fourth lane on southbound DNT from PGBT to the Belt Line Road exit and restriping to extend the existing fourth lane on northbound DNT from the Trinity Mills Road exit to the PGBT exit
  • Harvest Hill Road to I-35E: replacing the center barrier, resurfacing the pavement and adding new pavement markings. For more information on these improvements, click here.

DNT Improvement Projects consist of various projects that extend along the entire 32 miles of the DNT from Interstate 35E to U.S. 380. These improvements are designed to add capacity, help traffic flow and minimize traffic impacts during preventative maintenance.

Additional projects along the DNT between Interstate 635 in Dallas and the Sam Rayburn Tollway (SRT) in Frisco were completed in 2018. This work included adding a northbound fourth lane from the Trinity Mills Road exit ramp to the SRT and a southbound fourth lane from the SRT to Belt Line Road in Addison. Ramp improvements, resurfacing, and restriping work was also completed.

Current projects include:

·         U.S. 380 to SRT: planning is currently underway for the addition of a fourth lane in each direction

·         Harvest Hill Road to I-35E: replaced the center barrier, resurfaced the pavement and new pavement markings.
