Relationships and Opportunities Advancing Diversity (ROAD) Program.
The North Texas Tollway Authority is committed to increasing the participation of disadvantaged, minority-owned and woman-owned business enterprises in procurement contracts through the implementation of the Relationships and Opportunities Advancing Diversity (ROAD) program. The ROAD Program seeks to promote and facilitate relationships between prime contractors and consultants to foster opportunities for D/M/WBEs to participate in large contracts with the NTTA.
ROAD Program Objectives:
NTTA Relationships and Opportunities Advancing Diversity (ROAD) Program is designed to pair disadvantaged, minority and women-owned business enterprises (D/M/WBEs) with prime contractor firms that offer similar services and work with NTTA. This partnering relationship provides D/M/WBEs access to greater resources, products and/or services that can provide training and support for expanded business operations, technical capabilities and guidance in developing strategies to strengthen its business.
The ROAD Program’s goal is to increase and diversity participation in NTTA contracting by enabling D/M/WBEs to build capacity and compete for larger contracts. NTTA is committed to a program that supports the unique needs of these businesses and the efforts of our prime contractors. This effort furthers our commitment to assisting D/M/WBEs in competing among the region’s best firms for future NTTA contracts.
How the Program Works:
Primes and professional representatives from their firm will work directly with the consultant firm to develop a plan to build capacity and commit to exposing the consultant to major aspects of business relevant to his/her firm, access to resources and training in agreed upon areas that can include business development, technical and managerial proficiency, human resource development, management strategies, marketing, and project management. During the program period, consultants will participate in seminars, workshops and networking events that expose them to the most competitive firms in the industry. Primes/consultants will make notable business connections and partnerships within the North Texas community.
