    • Dallas North Tollway
      4/19/2018 2:00 PM

      The following closures are needed for construction activities associated with the DNT Improvement Projects:

      Friday, April 20, through the morning of Saturday, April 21 (Overnight)

      • Two southbound left lanes from Chapel Hill Boulevard to Park Boulevard will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, April 20, through 5 a.m. Saturday, April 21.
      • The President George Bush Turnpike to northbound DNT direct-connector ramps will be closed from 11 p.m. Friday, April 20, through 5 a.m. Saturday, April 21.

      East- and westbound PGBT to northbound DNT detour: Motorists will exit the PGBT at Midway Road and turn north onto Midway Road to Park Boulevard. Motorists will then take a right onto Park Boulevard and follow Park Boulevard to northbound Dallas Parkway, where they will turn left to enter the DNT.

      Work in this area is needed to facilitate the reconfiguration of the DNT/PGBT interchange and to construct an additional lane on the direct-connector ramps, and on the DNT main lanes near the Bush Turnpike.

      Changeable message signs will be placed prior to lane closures in the construction area. All closures are subject to weather conditions and will be postponed, if necessary. Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction area.

      The following closures are needed for construction activities associated with the DNT Improvement Projects:


      Friday, April 20, through the morning of Saturday, April 21 (Overnight)
      All lanes of east- and westbound Windhaven Parkway, including the U-turn lanes, under the DNT, will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday, April 20 through 8 a.m. Saturday, April 21.

      Detour for westbound traffic: Motorists will turn right onto northbound Dallas Parkway (the DNT frontage road) and make a U-turn at Thoroughfare B, the U-turn south of Spring Creek Parkway. They will continue on southbound Dallas Parkway back to their destination.

      Detour for eastbound traffic: Motorists will turn right onto southbound Dallas Parkway and make a left onto Parker Road. Motorists will then make another left onto northbound Dallas Parkway, and continue to their destination.

      Work includes construction of an additional travel lane in each direction of the DNT from the Sam Rayburn Tollway to the President George Bush Turnpike, resurfacing the roadway pavement and relocating the overhead lights from the center median to the outside of the roadway.

      Changeable message signs will be placed prior to lane closures in the construction area. All closures are subject to weather conditions and will be postponed, if necessary. Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction area.

      The following closures are needed for construction activities associated with the DNT Improvement Projects:

      Thursday, April 19, through the morning of Friday, April 20 (Overnight)

      • The direct-connector ramps from north- and southbound DNT to the President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday, April 19, through 5 a.m. Friday, April 20.
      • The southbound Park Boulevard entrance ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday, April 19, through 5 a.m. Friday, April 20.
      • Two northbound right lanes from Haverwood Lane to Chapel Hill Boulevard will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday, April 19, through 5 a.m. Friday, April 20.

      Detour to east- and westbound PGBT: Motorists will continue on the DNT and exit at Frankford Road, where they will turn west. Motorists will travel west on Frankford to Midway Road, turn right and continue on Midway Road to the PGBT, where they can enter east- or westbound PGBT.

      Detour to southbound DNT: Motorists will continue south on Dallas Parkway (the DNT frontage road) and enter southbound DNT from the entrance ramp south of Plano Parkway.

      Work in this area is needed to facilitate the reconfiguration of the DNT/PGBT interchange and to construct an additional lane on the direct-connector ramps, and on the DNT main lanes near the Bush Turnpike.

      The following closures are needed for construction activities associated with the DNT Improvement Projects:
      Sunday, April 15, through the morning of Friday, April 20 (Nightly)

      • Two north- and southbound left lanes between Lovers Lane and Park Lane will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, April 15, through the morning of Friday, April 20. One lane will remain open to traffic.
      • Two north- and southbound left lanes between Meaders Lane and Northaven Road will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, April 15, through the morning of Friday, April 20. One lane will remain open to traffic.
      • Two northbound right lanes from Northaven Road to Harvest Hill Road will be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, April 15, through the morning of Friday, April 20. One lane will remain open to traffic.

      Changeable message signs will be placed prior to lane closures in the construction area.

      All closures are subject to weather conditions and will be postponed, if necessary. Delays are expected, and motorists are urged to use caution in the construction area.

      Work in this area is proactive, preventative maintenance and includes replacing the tollway’s center barrier, resurfacing the roadway pavement, restriping all lanes in both directions and other pavement work.
