TollTag Billing

TollTags are billed from a prepaid account funded by cash or credit or debit card. Each time a credit- or debit-backed account balance falls below $10 for every three vehicles, an additional $40 per three vehicles will be automatically charged to the card on file.  Customers who have cash-backed TollTag accounts must add funds to their accounts either online, through the mail, at an NTTA Customer Service Center or a participating Regional TollTag Partner.

To ensure accurate billing and avoid receiving ZipCash bills, TollTag customers should update their TollTag account anytime they have changes to their vehicle, license plate, or credit or debit card information.

A TollTag customer will receive a ZipCash bill for tolls at the higher ZipCash rate if:
(1) the customer fails to update the account with correct vehicle or credit card information,
(2) the customer does not maintain enough funds in the account to pay the applicable tolls.

If you received new license plates or if you moved your hard-case TollTag to a different car, NTTA’s tolling systems may not be able to post tolls to your TollTag account.  Instead, ZipCash bills are mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle according to Texas Department of Motor Vehicles records.

If the credit card information on file for your TollTag account is incorrect or out of date, NTTA is unable to charge your credit card when the balance drops below $10 per three vehicles.  This causes your TollTag account to reach a $0 balance, and you will begin to receive ZipCash bills at the higher toll rate.

Upon receiving a ZipCash bill:  Because of the additional time required to process and collect these tolls, TollTag customers will be asked to pay for tolls at the higher ZipCash rate.  Once the account is returned to good standing, the customer will be billed at the preferred and lower TollTag rate.

You can pay these bills and update your TollTag account through the online Customer Service Center or by contacting NTTA Customer Service Center at 972-818-NTTA (6882) or 817-731-NTTA (6882) or CustomerService@ntta.org immediately. (Please do not send credit card information via email; doing so does not meet security requirements for protecting customer information.)
