3. Does a firm have to be minority or woman owned to become a DBE or a SBE vendor for the NTTA?
The requirements for becoming a DBE are established by the Federal government and include women and minority owned firms. Other firms can apply to be considered for certification as a DBE if they meet the requirements of Federal law. A firm must be certified as a DBE to be a DBE vendor for the NTTA.
The NTTA SBE program includes firms certified as a DBE, MBE, WBE or HUB and specifically firms that are SBEs without regard to whether they are owned by a minority or a woman. Certification as an SBE can be obtained through TxDOT. |
