DISCLOSURE OF CERTAIN RELATIONSHIPS
Effective January 1, 2006, Chapter 176 of the Texas Local Government Code requires that any vendor or person considering doing business with a local government entity complete a disclosure questionnaire regarding the vendor or person’s affiliation or business relationship with a local government officer that might cause a conflict of interest. As defined, “local government officer” would mean the members of the NTTA Board of Directors and the NTTA Executive Director.
The questionnaire (Form CIQ), developed by the Texas Ethics Commission, must be filed with the Secretary of the North Texas Tollway Authority not later than the 7th business day after the date the person becomes aware of facts that require the statement to be filed. It is the vendor’s or person’s sole responsibility to submit the questionnaire in accordance with the law. Failure to comply with the disclosure requirements may result in a Class C misdemeanor offense. Chapter 176 and Form CIQ may be found at Texas Ethics Commission.
