An overview of the Vendor Outreach Symposium program:
The North Texas Tollway Authority is committed to improving mobility in North Texas and believes in working with the communities it serves, including public stakeholders and businesses. To increase its outreach efforts and to market contracting opportunities to the public, the NTTA hosts Vendor Outreach Symposiums (VOS) to provide information about upcoming projects. The VOS is a traveling road show and a one-stop outreach for prospective vendors.
The VOS is an outreach effort by the NTTA Business Diversity Department, whose mission is to strengthen the Authority through the inclusion of disadvantaged, minority-owned and woman-owned business enterprises in the procurement of goods and services.
The symposiums provide information about contract opportunities for future NTTA projects and procurements. Participants have the opportunity to meet staff from various NTTA departments, including the Business Diversity Department. Representatives from the North Central Texas Regional Certification Agency also provide information about how to become DBE- or M/WBE-certified.
These events are designed to engage diverse contractors in the process of doing business with the NTTA. Attendees receive assistance from procurement specialists on finding available opportunities online. Vendors also can complete vendor registrations on site, and question-and-answer sessions are held to address any procurement concerns. |
