Purpose of the ROAD Program

The North Texas Tollway Authority is committed to increasing the participation of disadvantaged, minority-owned and woman-owned business enterprises in procurement contracts through the implementation of the Relationships and Opportunities Advancing Diversity (ROAD) Program. The ROAD Program seeks to promote and facilitate relationships between prime contractors and consultants to foster opportunities for D/M/WBEs to participate in large contracts with the NTTA

ROAD Program Objectives

    • Expand consultants’ scope and specialization of services and capabilities
    • Develop the consultants’ bidding capabilities
    • Broaden the consultants’ exposure to the process, execution and management of larger, more complex contracts
    • Develop more robust accounting procedures and reporting
    • Strengthen financial stability and relationships with credit grantors
    • Create a dialogue that includes coaching, innovation, guidance and best practices

The ROAD Program will provide opportunities for new and emerging D/M/WBE firms to have expanded access to resources, a broader scope of services, deeper technical knowledge and improved business management and operations processes by partnering with larger, more established firms offering similar services. The program is designed to result in increased diversity in participation of NTTA contracts, by elevating the size and scope of projects on which D/M/WBE firms bid.
