Title VI Nondiscrimination Policy

The North Texas Tollway Authority, as a recipient of federal financial assistance and under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related statutes, ensures that no person shall on the grounds of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, retaliation, or disability be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination under any Authority programs or activities related to toll facilities.  More information on Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and How to file a Title VI Nondiscrimination Complaint.

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a federal law that protects individuals, groups and organizations from discrimination on the basis of race, color or national origin in federally assisted programs and activities. Since other nondiscrimination authorities have expanded the scope and range of Title VI application and reach, reference to Title VI includes other provisions of federal statutes and related authorities to the extent that they prohibit discrimination in programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance.

How to file a Title VI Nondiscrimination Complaint

·         All complaints must be submitted using the External Discrimination Complaint Form.  The Link to the form is found at Title VI External Complaint Form.

·         All External Discrimination Complaints must be signed.

·         The NTTA’s designated Title VI Coordinator will review all complaints and distribute the complaints to the appropriate NTTA department for investigation.

·         The Title VI Coordinator will compile the response and forward to the complainant.

·         The Title VI Coordinator will maintain a log of all Title VI complaints and forward all complaints and associated dispositions to the Texas Department of Transportation’s Office of Civil Rights.

·         Please note if the discrimination complaint is related to the planning or construction of a facility prior to the NTTA’s acceptance of the project, the complaint must be filed with the Texas Department of Transportation or other appropriate entity. The NTTA Title VI Coordinator may be contacted for assistance.
