Magdalena Kovats
Director of Internal Audit
Prior to joining the NTTA, Ms. Kovats was the Director of Internal Audit for Friedman’s Inc., where she was responsible for starting the internal audit department. The internal audit department was responsible for internal audit and overseeing Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance for the company.
Ms. Kovats has worked for public companies and a professional services firm in similar internal audit capacities.
Ms. Kovats earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of North Texas (UNT). Ms. Kovats is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Ms. Kovats is also a committee member of the Dallas Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and Chair of the UNT Internal Audit Advisory Board.
