John Dahill
General Counsel
John B. Dahill joined the NTTA on Oct. 15, 2009 with almost two decades of legal experience. In his role as Assistant Executive Director of General Counsel, Mr. Dahill directs and manages all legal functions of the Authority including management of outside legal counsel.
Prior to joining the NTTA, Mr. Dahill served as Assistant General Counsel for the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, where he advised regarding health plans for active and retired teachers. He also served as principal legal advisor on legislation during the 2009 Legislative Session and as an advisor on ethics and open government matters for the organization.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Dahill operated a private solo law practice and was the General Counsel for the Texas Conference of Urban Counties, the Texas CUC Aggregation Project, and the Public Employee Benefits Cooperative of North Texas. Additionally, Mr. Dahill served as an Assistant District Attorney in Dallas County for more than 10 years, including several years as the Advisory Chief in the Civil Division.
Mr. Dahill holds a bachelor’s degree from Trinity University and a jurisprudence doctorate from the University Of Texas School Of Law.
