Southwest Parkway (SH 121 from IH 30 to Altamesa Blvd.)

Southwest Parkway is a proposed 8.7 mile, six-lane tollway that will extend from the City of Fort Worth's Central Business District at IH 30 to southwest Fort Worth. The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA), the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the City of Fort Worth, in conjunction with a Citizens Advisory Group have cooperatively developed a Corridor Master Plan to guide the design development of the corridor with respect to aesthetic features. Final environmental clearance for the corridor was received in June 2009, and final design is nearing completion.
TxDOT has been developing final design plans that will eventually extend the toll road further south from Altamesa Boulevard to U.S. 67 in Cleburne, which is an additional 19 miles. The portion of the extended toll road through Johnson County is referred to as Chisholm Trail Parkway.
NTTA and TxDOT are working together on financial planning for the entire Southwest Parkway/Chisholm Trail Parkway corridor, and pending a declaration of development by NTTA, will finalize an agreement to provide for the NTTA to complete development, and to operate and maintain the entire corridor.
The latest news on the Southwest Parkway (SWP) and Chisholm Trail Parkway (CTP) was presented to officials in Cleburne and Fort Worth in September 2009. Representatives from the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) were on hand to deliver an overview of the current status.
