Southwest Parkway (SH 121 from IH 30 to Altamesa Blvd.)

Southwest Parkway is a proposed 8.7 mile, six-lane tollway that will extend from the City of Fort Worth's Central Business District at IH 30 to southwest Fort Worth. The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) has been working in cooperation with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the City of Fort Worth on aesthetic features being envisioned for the entire corridor. Final design is under way and environmental clearance has been received.
TxDOT has plans to eventually extend the toll road further south from Altamesa Boulevard to U.S. 67 in Cleburne, which is an additional 19 miles. That portion of the roadway is referred to as Chisholm Trail Parkway.
The latest news on the Southwest Parkway (SWP) and Chisholm Trail Parkway (CTP) was presented to citizens and officials in Cleburne and Fort Worth on March 24, 2009. Representatives from the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA), the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the North Central Texas Council of Governments delivered a detailed overview of the projects. A project status report was also provided to attendees.
