The President George Bush Turnpike: Eastern Extension



The President George Bush Turnpike Eastern Extension is a 9.9-mile segment from State Highway (SH) 78 in Garland, east to Interstate Highway (I) 30. The six-lane toll road opened Dec. 21, 2011 and passes through the cities of Garland, Sachse and Rowlett and includes a one-mile bridge over Dallas' Lake Ray Hubbard.

Initially planned in 1957, it is part of the Loop 9/State Highway 190 corridor.
