DNT Auxiliary Lane and Safety Modifications

In an effort to relieve some of the peak period congestion on the Dallas North Tollway, an NTTA study identified several areas where new auxiliary lanes could be added without significant disruption or expense along seven locations from Park Boulevard to Alpha Road. In those locations, auxiliary lanes and safety enhancements are under construction. Previously, similar improvements were completed on the DNT at IH 635. The current auxiliary lane construction began in January 2006 and is expected to be complete by January 2007. The northbound auxiliary lane project, including safety enhancements and shoulder maintenance, is about 75% complete. The southbound auxiliary lane project is about 45% complete.
