Michael R. Nowels
Denton County Appointee
 Mr. Nowels currently serves as President of Nowels Gas Inc. and has been in the retail gas and convenience store industry for over 18 years. His family operates stores in Dallas, Collin, and Tarrant counties. He has been in retail and marketing for over 35 years. He served on the Mobil Oil National Dealer Advisory Council and the National Strategy Team. He is a past director of the Texas State Inspection Association.
Elected to office in 1998, Mr. Nowels served on the Lewisville City Council through May 2007. While on the City Council he held the positions of Deputy Mayor Pro Tem and Mayor Pro Tem. In addition, he was selected to serve as vice president of the Lewisville Parks and Library Corporation which is responsible for overseeing and planning the use of 4B sales tax initiatives.
Mr. Nowels has been active in the area of transportation serving on both the Dallas Regional Mobility Coalition and the North Texas Regional Transportation Council. He also chaired the Better Safer Roads bond program for Denton County and has been active in several legislative programs. |
