David R. Denison Denton County Appointee
David Denison has been an independent real estate broker and consultant for the past 18 years brokering land in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. He has consulted for Stratford Group of Dallas providing expertise in due diligence on land acquisitions, management of land assets, land development and entitlements for the development of land. He is also a Director and President of the Valwood Improvement Authority.
Twice in the past 10 years he has served as liaison between property owners and Denton County and the City of Frisco in the securing of needed parcels of land for Dallas North Tollway expansion. In 1995, Mr. Denison secured alignment and right-of-way deeds for the DNT through Frisco which included donation deeds for 150 acres to build five miles of tollway through Denton and Collin Counties.
From 2000 to 2002, Mr. Denison negotiated for parcels of right of way for future use building the Phase 4 extension from Denton County into Grayson County. He obtained property owner commitments for dedication of approximately 224 acres of right of way for eight miles of tollway extension.
Over the past four decades, he has been Property Manager and Executive Vice President for Tomlin Properties, Inc.; Vice President of Real Estate for American Diversified Properties; Manager of Land Planning and Engineering for U.S. Plywood-Champion Paper Company Realty, and City and Land Planner for Hunter Associates.
His professional and civic affiliations include City of Frisco, Texas Planning Advisory Committee; Director - Upper Trinity Regional Water District; Director-Denton County Development District #4; City of Frisco NTTA liaison for securing ROW deeds; Greenbelt Study Committee for City of Allen; Transportation Committee - City of Lewisville; Chairman - Appraisal Review Board - Denton County; Board of Directors for Lewisville Chamber of Commerce; Director - Executive Board of North Central Texas Council of Governments; Chairman - Criminal Justice Policy Advisory Committee of NCTCOG; Mayor - City of Lewisville; and Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Lewisville.
Mr. Denison is a Certified Planner-in-Charge as well as a licensed Real Estate Broker and is a member of the American Institute of City Planners, A.P.A.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Construction from Texas A&M University in 1967 and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning in 1968.
